RPE's/Expander's
How long Will I have the RPE in for?
The amount of time a RPE/Expander will be fixed in the mouth will be about 5 months. During this expansion process, spacing in the teeth might happen and is totally normal.
What Can I Eat With A RPE?
When first getting the expander/RPE, eating might be difficult due to getting use to the expander/RPE being in the mouth. After a few days it should be easier to eat and from there you can eat almost everything except for sticky, hard, crunchy foods. Some examples would include popcorn, nuts, candy, and caramel.

How Do I Brush With A RPE?
We recommend brushing the appliance the same way you brush your teeth. Please feel free to watch the video below (starting at 4:17) to get a good visual on how to brush the RPE/expander. If any food gets stuck, use water and swish around in mouth to get food free and able to dispose. Warm salt water rinses can help gum soreness as well for the first few days.
